(FT students): I also have a chance to win an All-American Scholarship to help with school... I also earn pay raises and advancement opportunities based on my performance!
Mrs. _________, since I just started, I’m going to be reading from my manual. Is that okay?"
Transition to the Demo
By the way, I’m telling you my goals, but like I said before, you don’t have to get anything just to help me out... Cutco is way too expensive to purchase just to be nice and help me out. It’s not a pity buy… BUT :-) if you do see something you like, then I highly recommend getting it today for the best deals and it will not only help with my goals, but it’s also a great product as well (win-win)!
I'm only able to work through referrals, so my biggest goal today is that you like me and Cutco enough to recommend me to some of your friends.
Please don’t buy anything unless you see something you like.
Actually since the height of the quarantine in 2020, many people have been paying now more than ever! In fact, we sold more than $7-8 million nationally as a company each week during the summer of 2020. It was not just for the deals, but also because restaurants were not fully opened, people had to cook more, and Cutco is American-made so it helps the economy. With everything going on now in the world, it is more important than ever to buy American-made. This is also the fifth time Cutco has done well in a recession because people tend to pay for things that last in a recession; they can’t afford to be cheap since it adds up. Plus, it’s the summer so people are cooking more often anyway. Have you been cooking more often? What do you cook?
(Write things down)
There is also a sponsorship page. This is something you can help out with, without even buying anything that is based on recommending others. I’ll tell you more at the end. Don’t let me forget! I’m serious. Don’t let me forget.
We’re a proud member of the Direct Sales Association. We subscribe to certain ethics, such as no telemarketing or door-to-door sales because we only work off of referrals. I don’t feel comfortable walking to people’s homes with knives… #sketchy Everyone I talk to has been recommended to me. Each appointment I do helps me towards my goals!
Plus, CUTCO IS AWESOME! You can buy a variety of sets and we have tons of accessories and gifts. We also have interest-free monthly investment options so you don’t have to pay for it all at once. Just so I know, do you cook because you have to, like to, or love to? Do you guys ever entertain or host family occasions? Do you have anything that you have bought once and never had to buy again? Great! You’re going to LOVE Cutco"

Disadvantages of Common Knives
"Mrs. __________, most people have the world's most expensive set of knives!
The average knife set is designed to last 2 years, so most households waste a ton of money replacing cheap knives over and over. You probably know this better than I do, but cheap knives have a lot of problems..."
(Review "In Time Sheet" shown on the slide)
"There are two types of handles:"
(Click to slide #8)
Do a gross face and react to what you're reading.
"WOODEN HANDLES are attractive when new, but they are extremely unsanitary!
-
They absorb liquids, bacteria, grease, and germs and retain odors.
-
It is a violation of the FDA health code for restaurants to use wooden handles because of sanitation concerns.
-
Studies from the University of Arizona found that thanks to working with raw meat, kitchen utensils have 200 times more fecal bacteria than a toilet seat since many of that bacteria originate in animals' internal organs.
PLASTIC HANDLES are usually cheaply constructed, so they melt, chip, crack, and break. They are slippery when wet, which is extremely dangerous when you're cutting. (Concerned face! Unsafe!)
For example, water slides are also made of plastic and are very slippery when wet. When you're cooking, your hands get wet, oily, greasy, and slimy, which makes you more likely to slip up and cut yourself. One of the most common reasons for ER visits are knife accidents because of this.
Common knives are constructed very poorly...
Most knives have a PARTIAL TANG with less steel, making them weak and unbalanced so they break easily.
Most RIVETS are made of BRASS, which expands, contracts, and loosens, creating unsanitary gaps.
There are two types of steel:
CARBON STEEL is strong, but it rusts and corrodes, which is unattractive and unsanitary.
STAINLESS STEEL looks good, but it's a soft metal, so it won't stay sharp and is difficult to sharpen.
Have some of your knives gone dull over the years, Ms. _______?
Exactly! It's like a razor blade. Razor blades are made of disposable stainless steel, which is why they need to be replaced over and over again.
There are two types of edges:
SERRATED EDGES rip and tear your food and cannot be re-sharpened.
STRAIGHT EDGES make a smooth cut, but they have to be sharpened to remain effective.
The hard cutting surface dulls a knife, not the food. Both of these edges directly contact the cutting board, dulling them quickly. A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one because you have to push harder.
Let me show you how Cutco has solved all of these problems...
